An unnamed Swedish club is believed to have tabled a bid but the international player finally remained with the record Kenya Premier League Champions. Odhiambo, who has scored twice in three matches already this season, said time wasn't ripe for him to move, but will consider his options when he feels he is ready for a new challenge.
"There was a lot of interest from the region, the rest of the continent and Europe but things did not work out as planned. Maybe it wasn't the right time but eventually, I am sure, I will get better deals," he said as reported by SportsBoom.
The Harambee Star was on fire for the club last season. He scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists as K'Ogalo successfully defended their Kenya Premier title. The creative lynchpin missed pre-season, sending a clear message he wanted out.
He hopes to bid K'Ogalo farewell respectably rather than forcing his way out. “When the right time comes, I will certainly leave. I would like it to be seamless and short of drama. I hope I will have enjoyed my time at the club enough and won everything.”
